I need to get these girls poured, fired and glazed ;-)

I offered my workshop where

we created a chandelier celebrating

the life, art and talent of

Beatrix Potter.

Each girl made the piece their own, adding touches of vintage jewelry,

ribbon, lace and bling!

I was overwhelmed with the creative talent in one room!

Each was beautiful and sparkling with love.

In a 12.5 hr day overwhelmed by severe weather, bumper to bumper Los Angeles traffic, and extreme lack of sleep....

I found 1.5 hrs of refuge in a charming cottage in Santa Ana, Ca.

opened her door, gave me a warm hug, then put on a pot of hot welcoming coffee....ahhhh.....

I recently took my youngest daughter Madyson June to a place of happiness in my memories.

I wanted my child to see where so much of my heart lies, even if in the past.

I was raised by a single mother of seven, a woman who was connected at the soul with the poor Sisters Of Nazareth. I attended Catholic School here in San Diego, a school that was a safe place, where the nuns took care of me and my siblings, my mother....... as well as my mother taking care of them.......

I realized that I had a pretty decent camera in my new phone and took pleasure in capturing some of my childhood memories to share with you here on my blog.

The grotto where we would come to pray as children during school, listening to the beautiful story and history of "Lourdes".....

We were taught to never sit in a place of Judgement, only Love & Acceptance of all God's Children.

Still today, I am able to ask the Blessed Mary, the Mother of God, for guidance and assistance.

What a blessing this school has been in my past, the Sisters from Ireland, the priests that loved and cared for my mother and her children.

I am grateful.

Life can be filled with struggle, heartache and challenge.

I try so very hard to thank God for what I have in my life instead of what I do not.

Keeping my "chin up" is itself challenging, but when I "get a grip" on reality......

I am truly appreciative of what I am blessed with in my life.

I have a roof over my head, I am not homeless....

I have a mattress to sleep on, I do not sleep on the sidewalk.....

I have nutritional food to eat, I am not hungry.......

I have medical care when needed, I am not suffering from illness........

My children are healthy, they do not suffer from cancer.......

I certainly know that I can be especially "negative" at times, something I struggle with every day, something I work on improving every day.

I have beautiful friends that I cherish and love.

I have three beautiful children, gifts from God.

There will always be someone suffering a deeper challenge than me.

My life is "good".

I am grateful.

July 15Th, '2010 was Les Sirens Vendor Event and I was so honored to be invited.

The ever beautiful Jane Pollock and I had big beautiful tables where we were able to display our handmade wares, and we were so blessed to basically sell out! :-)

The beautiful and classic Kim Caldwell created a magical world for women from all over the country to come, shop, relax, learn, connect with friends, establish new friendships and enjoy the time that we all had together!

I made some new friendships that night I am sure will last a lifetime.

The wonderful Charlene was my biggest buyer, making me feel so very special and loved :-)

Creating An Empire Waist........

If there is one thing that I know for sure in fashion, there is one overall dress style that is flattering to all body types.......

The Empire Waist.

I wanted to create a "Jane Austin" feel dress or tunic style top that would fit both a variety of body sizes, as well as be flattering at the same time.

I decided to add a draw string to this delicious linen tunic, creating an empire waist, as well as enabling the piece to fit from a size small to a size Large.
I will be selling these simplistic and flattering

A Manifestation Of My Mind.........

Alright......

I have decided to take a break from "attempting" to clean my work room.

I moved my work table yesterday, and actually left all the $#i! on the table while I carefully moved it all to another wall space....

Hmmmmmm......

As I have a very bad back, this process took about 45 minutes, give or take a few......

The only items that I actually removed before rearranging were the primitive shelf and thread holder.

Here's my point......

My mind is always turned "on"...... I CANNOT shut it off. I want to create a million things......

NOT POSSIBLE.

I obviously have serious issues.........

Instead of removing, putting away and thoroughly cleaning up the mess on the table, "Prior" to moving it, speaks VOLUMES about my disfunction......

I had to take a picture and share it with all of you right now, as I am completely aware of my "out of control" , "too much stress", "not able to relax" and

OVERWHELMING layers of "stuff"

in my life that I need to "De-Clutter".

This MESS is a direct manifestation of too many layers.......

Davey graduated from the eighth grade at 5:00 pm,

Wed, June 9TH '2010.

Davey will start high school this coming fall, and before I can blink

my eyes twice, he'll be done........

I miss my baby, but embrace the young man that he has become,

challenging as it may seem ;-)

I got one for each size, as Butterick had a $2.99 Pattern Sale :-)

I have been online seeking out the perfect prints for this ADORABLE dress.

I am often drawn to rose floral, and am particular to Red Roses & Blues for backgrounds.

I can't go wrong with trimming this dress in red......... maybe adding some Ruffles.......
